B.R. Ashby, M.D. Award for Outstanding Community Service

In May 2009, the Danville Regional Foundation Board of Directors established the B.R. Ashby, M.D. Award for Outstanding Community Service in honor and recognition of the leadership and commitment to community service demonstrated by Dr. Bob Ashby. The B. R. Ashby, M.D. Award for Outstanding Community Service recognizes a non-profit organization for outstanding work that improves the quality of life for residents of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Caswell County.

The award recipient must demonstrate the impact of its work in the communities it serves and will be evaluated on its commitment to caring for the residents of the community, generosity of spirit, and the ease with which residents can access its services. One $50,000 unrestricted general operating grant will be given at an event to be held in January. Applications for the B. R. Ashby, M.D. Award for Outstanding Community Service will be vigorously reviewed, and only organizations that meet all of the eligibility requirements will be considered.
