Meet the Foundation Board
B.R. Ashby, Jr., M.D.
A native of Danville, Dr. Ashby grew up in Schoolfield. After graduating from George Washington High School, he entered the University of Virginia, where he graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Medicine. After completing his residency training there, he returned to Danville in 1971 to open his practice. He has been very active in numerous local community service and business interests over the years, as well as being actively involved with the University and other organizations in Virginia. He and his wife, Fran, spend as much time as possible with their three daughters and their families, including six grandchildren, in the DC area and their son in New York City.

The Board of Directors of the Danville Regional Foundation is a diverse group of Danville and Pittsylvania County citizens who have distinguished themselves through their service and dedication to the community. Members bring to the Board a mix of energy, experience, expertise and continuity, as well as a commitment to enhance the long-term future of the area.
